Creator Guide
Everything you need to know to find campaigns, collaborate with D2C brands, and earn on Influex.
1. Getting Started
Influex is a marketplace where D2C brands post campaigns and creators like you apply to collaborate. Whether you are a micro-creator with 2,000 followers or a growing creator with 200,000, you can find campaigns that fit your niche and audience.
To get started, create a free creator account. You will be guided through onboarding where you set your niche, connect your social handles, and complete your profile. The whole process takes under 5 minutes.
- Joining Influex is completely free for creators
- No subscription, no listing fee, no hidden charges
- You only earn. You never pay.
2. Setting Up Your Profile
Your profile is your storefront on Influex. Brands browse creator profiles before shortlisting applicants, so a complete, accurate profile significantly increases your chances of getting selected.
What to include
- Profile photo and bio: Use a clear photo and write a short bio describing your content focus and audience.
- Niche tags: Select the categories that best describe your content: beauty, fitness, food, lifestyle, tech, home, etc.
- Social handles: Add your Instagram, YouTube, or other platforms. Brands use this to review your content.
- Follower count and engagement: Enter accurate figures. Inflated metrics will result in account suspension.
- Location: Some campaigns are location-specific. Keep your city/region updated.
Profile verification
After completing your profile, it goes through a basic review by the Influex team. Verified profiles appear with a checkmark and are given higher visibility in brand searches. Verification checks that your follower count, engagement, and content quality are consistent with your profile.
3. Discovering Campaigns
Once your profile is set up, you can browse available campaigns from the Campaigns section of your dashboard. Campaigns are posted by brands and may be open for applications or invite-only.
- Browse by niche: Filter campaigns by your content category to find the most relevant opportunities.
- Campaign type: Campaigns are either barter (product-for-content) or paid (product + fee). Both are clearly labelled.
- Campaign brief: Each campaign shows the product, deliverables, timeline, and requirements before you apply.
- Invite-only campaigns: Some brands proactively invite creators they discover through search. You will receive a notification if invited.
Read each brief carefully before applying. You are committing to the deliverables described if selected.
4. Applying to Campaigns
To apply for a campaign, open the campaign page and click Apply. You may be asked to add a short note to the brand explaining why you are a good fit.
- Your application includes your profile, follower count, and engagement stats automatically
- You can apply to multiple campaigns at the same time
- Brands review all applications and shortlist creators they want to work with
- You will receive a notification when your application is accepted or declined
- Do not apply to campaigns outside your niche. Brands will decline and it affects your profile ranking.
Once a brand accepts your application, the collaboration is created and both parties receive the campaign brief with agreed deliverables and timelines.
5. Collaborations
A collaboration is a formal agreement between you and a brand to deliver specific content in exchange for a product (barter) or a product plus a fee (paid). Collaborations move through the following stages:
- Confirmed: Brand has accepted your application and the collaboration is active.
- Product Shipped: Brand marks the product as dispatched and shares a tracking number.
- Draft Submitted: You submit your content draft through the platform for brand review.
- Completed: Brand approves the content and the collaboration is marked complete. Payment is released for paid collaborations.
All collaboration milestones are tracked on the platform. Keep the platform updated as things progress. Do not communicate deliverable updates only via DMs or email.
6. Content Delivery
After receiving the product, create the content as described in the campaign brief. When your content is ready, submit a draft through the platform before publishing.
How to submit a draft
- Go to your active collaboration and click Submit Draft
- Upload your content file, video, or share a link to your draft post
- Add any notes for the brand if needed
- The brand reviews and either approves or requests revisions
Revisions
Brands may request one round of revisions if your content does not meet the brief. Revision requests must be reasonable and within the original brief scope. You are not obligated to make changes that go beyond what was agreed.
Disclosure requirements
All collaborations require you to disclose the paid partnership or gifted product in your content, as required by ASCI guidelines. Use disclosures like "Ad", "Gifted", or "Paid partnership" clearly in your post or video. Failure to disclose may result in your account being suspended.
7. Getting Paid
For paid collaborations, the brand pays the agreed creator fee at the time of collaboration confirmation. The funds are held in escrow by Influex and released to you only after the brand approves your final content.
- You always receive the full agreed fee. Influex's commission is charged to the brand separately.
- Payouts are processed by the Influex admin team after collaboration completion
- Payments are sent to your registered UPI ID or bank account
- Ensure your payout details are complete in your profile settings before your first paid collaboration
- Payout processing typically takes 3 to 5 business days after the collaboration is marked complete
For barter collaborations, there is no monetary payment. Your compensation is the product you receive from the brand.
8. Barter Campaigns
Barter campaigns are the most common campaign type on Influex, especially for micro-creators. The brand sends you a product; you create and publish the agreed content. No cash changes hands.
- Confirm shipping address details with the brand via the platform messaging system
- Once the product is shipped, the brand will mark the collaboration as Product Shipped
- Only accept barter collaborations you genuinely intend to complete
- Accepting a product and not delivering content is a serious violation and can lead to permanent account suspension
- If circumstances prevent you from delivering, communicate with the brand immediately through the platform
9. Messaging Brands
You can message brands directly through the platform's messaging system once a collaboration is active. Use this to clarify brief details, confirm shipping information, or discuss timelines.
- Keep all collaboration-related communication on the platform, not via personal DMs, WhatsApp, or email
- On-platform messages are used as evidence in any dispute resolution process
- Respond to brand messages promptly. Delays affect your profile rating.
- Brands cannot see your personal contact details unless you share them voluntarily
10. Disputes
If a brand raises a dispute against your collaboration, for example claiming you did not deliver content, the Influex team will review the case using on-platform messages, submitted drafts, and milestone records.
- Respond to any dispute notification within 5 business days
- Provide evidence of your submission through the platform, such as draft links or messages
- For paid collaborations, funds remain in escrow until the dispute is resolved
- The Influex team's decision on disputes is final for the purposes of payout release
To avoid disputes, always submit content through the platform and keep your collaboration milestones updated. For questions, contact hello@getinfluex.com.
11. Tips for Success
- Complete your profile fully: Brands skip incomplete profiles. Add all social handles, a clear bio, and accurate metrics.
- Only apply to campaigns you fit: Applying to irrelevant campaigns hurts your application score and wastes both parties' time.
- Deliver on time: On-time delivery builds your reputation and increases your chances of being invited to future campaigns.
- Communicate early: If you are facing delays, tell the brand before the deadline, not after.
- Keep metrics honest: Accounts with artificially inflated followers or engagement are permanently removed.
- Use platform messaging: All important conversations and agreements should be on-platform so they are protected.
- Build a portfolio: Complete collaborations show up on your profile and help brands assess your reliability and content quality.
12. FAQs
Is Influex free for creators?
Yes. Creators join, browse campaigns, apply, and collaborate completely free. Influex charges brands, never creators.
What follower count do I need?
There is no minimum follower count to join. Brands on Influex specifically look for micro-creators with engaged, niche audiences, often more valuable than large but unengaged followings.
Can I apply to multiple campaigns at once?
Yes. You can have multiple active applications and collaborations simultaneously as long as you can deliver on all of them within the agreed timelines.
What happens if I receive the product but cannot deliver content?
Contact the brand immediately through the platform and explain the situation. Unresponsive creators who accept products and deliver nothing are suspended from the platform. In serious cases, legal action may be taken by the brand directly.
How do I receive my payout for a paid collaboration?
Add your UPI ID or bank account details in your profile settings. After the brand approves your content, the Influex admin team processes your payout within 3 to 5 business days.
Can I negotiate the terms of a campaign?
Once a campaign is live, terms are set by the brand. You can discuss delivery timelines or minor clarifications via platform messaging, but the core deliverables and fee are as posted in the brief.
