Influex ("we", "us", or "our") operates the platform available at getinfluex.com — a two-sided marketplace connecting D2C brands with micro-creators for campaign collaboration and payments. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our platform.

By registering or using Influex, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to all users of the Influex platform, including:

  • Brands — businesses or individuals who create campaigns and hire creators
  • Creators — individuals who create content and apply to brand campaigns
  • Visitors — anyone who browses our website without registering

3. Data We Collect

3.1 Account Data

When you register, we collect:

  • Full name and email address
  • Username and password (stored as a bcrypt hash — never in plain text)
  • Account type (brand or creator)
  • Profile details (bio, niche, social handles, location, engagement data)

3.2 Payment Data

All payment processing is handled by Razorpay. We do not store your full card numbers, CVV, or bank account credentials on our servers. We store:

  • Razorpay order IDs and payment IDs
  • Transaction amounts and statuses
  • Payout records for creator earnings

3.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect:

  • IP address and browser/device type
  • Pages visited and features used
  • Search queries within the platform
  • Session timestamps and error logs

3.4 Communications

We store messages sent between brands and creators through the platform's messaging system. These are used to facilitate collaboration and resolve disputes.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Match brands with relevant creators and vice versa
  • Process payments and manage payouts
  • Send transactional emails (campaign updates, payment confirmations)
  • Improve platform features and fix bugs
  • Detect and prevent fraud or policy violations
  • Comply with applicable laws

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

5. Data Sharing

We share your data only in the following circumstances:

  • Between users: Creator profile data (name, handle, niche, engagement rate) is visible to brands on the platform, and vice versa for brand profiles. You control what you add to your profile.
  • Payment processor: We share necessary transaction data with Razorpay to process payments and payouts.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by Indian law, court order, or government authority.
  • Business transfer: In case of a merger or acquisition, user data may be transferred to the new entity, with notice provided to users.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except for:

  • Transaction records, which are retained for 7 years for financial compliance
  • Data required to resolve ongoing disputes
  • Anonymised usage analytics (no personal identifiers)

7. Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023 + GDPR)

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and applicable regulations, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal obligations)
  • Grievance redressal: Raise a complaint about how your data is handled
  • Withdraw consent: Opt out of non-essential data processing at any time

8. Security

We implement the following security measures:

  • All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with appropriate salt rounds
  • JWT tokens are used for authentication with expiry controls
  • Rate limiting is applied to all API endpoints
  • Access to production databases is restricted to authorised personnel only

9. Cookies

We use minimal cookies:

  • Essential cookies: Authentication tokens and session management. Required for the platform to function.
  • Analytics: We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand feature usage. No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking.

You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings without affecting core functionality.

10. Children's Privacy

Influex is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us and we will delete the account immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify registered users via email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
